Because fiberglass cloth is a blend of good strength and
performance for most surfboards, and it is also the most economical
for the manufacturer and of course, the customer. Fiber glass
materials are used widely in all over the world for surfboard
building. 4oz and 6oz e-glass are the most common weight of surfboard fiberglass cloth.
Unionfull produce this fabric in plain or twill woven, and has twill 4oz, 6oz
and 8oz e-glass fiberglass cloth in stock. So if twill is ok for
you, it will be more economical and less lead time. The width which Unionfull have in stock is 70cm/27.6" width 4oz fabric, 80cm width 6oz fabric
and 80cm width 8oz fabric. They are common width for surfboard
building and can meet most customers' requirement.
However, except for surfboard building, 6oz fabric can be used for
other application too, for example, it can be coated to meet some
special application, also can be used to produce septic tank, fire
blanket and fire curtains. But now it is usually called as a
separate series for sport euipment building. A series of 4oz, 6oz,
8oz, 7628 and other light weight fabric, which can be used for
sports products such as the snowboard, surfboard and skimboard.
